Cooking: Sup Ikan Merah

    I love the table cloth. Since we don’t plan on going to Syria anytime soon, I’ll just drool over yours 😀
    AND, please post up the recipe for the sup ikan merah, if you don’t mind?

    Untuk Menumis:
    Minyak Masak
    1 kulit kayu manis
    3 biji buah pelaga
    3 biji bunga lawang
    Bahan kisar B

    Bahan B (dikisar dgn air):
    7 ulas bawang merah
    3 ulas bawang putih
    3 inci halia

    Bahan lain:
    1 liter air
    1 kepala ikan merah (dipotong kecil)
    2 Asam keping
    Garam secukup rasa
    Ladah sulah secukup rasa
    Secubit serbuk perisa (aji)
    1 biji Lobak Merah (dipotong panjang)
    1 batang Celery (dipotong panjang)
    1 labu bawang besar dipotong 4
    1 biji Ubi kentang (option)

    Bahan Hiasan
    Daun sup daun bawang (dipotong halus)
    Bawang goreng

    Panaskan periuk dan minyak masak. Masukkan bahan tumis (bunga lawang, buah pelaga & kayu manis) sehingga bau & masukkan bahan B yg dikisar tadi. kacau perlahan-lahan sehingga naik bau. Kemudian, masukkan 1 liter air, biarkan mendidih, masukkan asam keping, garam & ladah sulah. Kemudian masukkan Ikan dan biarkan ianya mendidih selama 5 minit. Kemudian, masukkan sayur dan bawang besar biarkan selama 3 minit. Boleh diangkat dan dihias dgn daun sup & daun bawang serta bawang goreng.

    Mcm mana you uruskan keluarga and at the sametime keje yang required you travel. Anak you ada berapa orang? So, u & hubby selalu travel bersama atau lain2. Nis is mom to be so nak minta advise, how to manage your family dalam masa yang sama boleh jadi career woman.

    You know what, I have been hankering for a good sup ikan merah like forever. I first had a taste of that like 13 yrs ago, but never attempted to make one because I don’t think I could ever make a clear fish soup!
    Bila balik malaysia tengok2 ada sup bunjut for fish. Convenient, true, but it’s nice knowing how to make it from scratch 🙂

  5. Hi Nisda…. FYI, we have no kid. Only me & my husband. Our job requires us to travel around especially overseas. Sometimes he goes abroad, at times I do the same thing. Kadang2 I ikut dia, kadang2 dia ikut I. Once a year we make sure we travel for holiday (not for work). Utk advise as a mom, I could not becos I pun tak pernah jadi mom. Tapi utk career woman & family, I boleh la bagi tips sket2. Persefahaman paling penting, dan jgn mengada-ngada nak merajuk tak tentu pasal hehehe …. I used to do it but as we grow, I just realized merajuk tu tak mendatangkan pekdah pun, paling tidak kita dipujuk….kalau tak dipujuk lagi la sakit hati kan. sesekali on genuine case tu ok lah … but remember, jgn tak tentu pasal nak merajuk. It is a big no-no for lelaki. Pas tu, rajin2 lah masak kat dapur utk family. Simple pun tak per janji makan kat rumah & together dgn family. Kadang2 goreng telur, buat sayur sket pun good enuf. Janji masak sendiri. Oh ye, BTW beza umo kami 12 tahun. mungkin tu one of the secret kut.

  7. Now back in Msia for a hiatus. My daughter tak pernah tengok our family, so we would be back for awhile 🙂
